Is now a good time to build houses?

It’s clear that the impact of the drive for new housing is starting to make a positive effect on the UK housebuilding sector, bringing some joy for developers and builders alike.

The National House Building Council (NHBC) has recently reported UK builders registered more than 43,500 new homes during Q3 2018, making it the highest quarter since 2007.

Some 43,578 new homes were registered during the period July to September, an increase of 15% on those registered in the same period 12 months ago.

Continued growth in new houses may reach the Government target of 300,000 homes a year, but there is still some uncertainty around Brexit and the impact that may have, but many builders are on with things like upskilling their workers and putting resource into new developments.

Small to medium sized developers can also enjoy a market where funding is plentiful and there are numerous options to finance a scheme, whether it be residential, commercial or mixed use. As well as short and long term funding choices there are also joint ventures which can be used to initiate those developments where some other forms of funding aren’t available.

With so much activity in the industry be sure to talk to us about getting the best deal for your project as we can search the whole market and have advantageous terms.
